Joris Bokkes

Joris is a Venture Partner at 819 Capital Partners, working closely with founders and management teams across the portfolio to help them unlock growth. He strengthens leadership teams, supports fundraising and business development, and provides hands-on guidance for scaling operations.

Alongside the investment team, Joris leverages deep industry expertise, an extensive network, and years of operating experience to source and evaluate new investment opportunities. He contributes strategic insight during due diligence and collaborates on deal structuring and post-investment planning.

Joris is an entrepreneurial leader in guiding cross-functional teams to commercialize medical innovations and realize profitable growth.

Before joining 819 Capital Partners, Joris spent more than four years at Johnson & Johnson – Innovative Medicine as Business Unit Manager. He founded &INNOVATE, a successful boutique consultancy focused on strategy, innovation, and business development . In that capacity, he also served as Senior Director at the Holland US Bridge, helping Dutch Life Sciences and Health Tech companies enter the U.S. market and secure venture funding.

Joris also held various roles over eight years at Philips, starting as an Innovation Management Consultant and culminating as Program Director Oncology within the Chief Medical Office.

Joris started his career as consultant at A.T. Kearney, after completing an internship at Perimed AB in Stockholm and a master’s thesis project at Immunicon Corporation in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.

Joris holds dual MSc degrees in Applied Physics and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Twente, where he specialized in Medical Cell Biophysics.

In addition, he has completed executive education at Harvard Business School and Berkeley Haas School of Business, as well as non-executive board programs with Hemingway Professional Governance and De Nieuwe Commissaris.
